Losing Sleep Over Your Bedtime Routine Doesn’t Work

Let’s talk about your bedtime routine.

I am sure you heard so many different things that you should and/or could be doing to get yourself ready for sleep.

The camomile tea, the book to read, the hot bath to have, the music to listen to, the lavender oil to spray on your pillow… and so on.

And some might have worked for a while and others don’t seem to have worked at all, but they should have (the advice says).

During my talk yesterday, I asked the attendees to take a moment and think about what their bedtime routine is (45 – 60 minutes before climbing into bed). Some of them looked away and avoided eye contact, some of them smiled and lit up, some looked really confused about it.

I wonder which one is you at the moment… (please feel free to share yours in the comments).

Everybody has a bedtime routine, but if you are not able to get to sleep easily, then chances are, your bedtime routine really doesn’t work for you.

No surprises there.

Think of bedtime routine as a way for you to transition from day to night and not a time to complete ‘just’ one more thing.

If you want to find out how you can build a solid bedtime routine that works, reach out to me. I’d love to help you get to sleep easily.
