Hi, I'm Dee, a certified Personal Trainer and supportive Health and Wellness Coach. Let me share with you my story and what led me to developing The Sleep Edition eCourse that will allow you to sleep tight every night.
My sleeping patterns took a turn for the worst when I returned from overseas a number of years ago and immediately settled back into my old job as a Casino Dealer. I was rostered on to work permanent night shifts and decided I didn’t like this plan. As a result, I took on a second job in retail working normal hours and reduced my hours at the casino.
Unfortunately, my shifts at my new retail job did not always fit well with my night shifts. A couple of times a week I would finish work at the casino at 4am and would have to start my retail job at 8am. This usually occurred two days in a row. I would drive home, get 2 to 3 hours of sleep, drive to my retail job, work until 5pm, drive back home, get an hours sleep and then drive back to my casino job for another 8 hours.
This eventually caught up with me. Driving home from my casino job one night, I fell asleep at the wheel and ran off the road. Thankfully I had taken my foot off the accelerator and had only drifted into the gutter. There were no other cars on the road, my car sustained no damage and I received no injuries. However, I was pretty shaken by what had occurred.
As a result, I found the nerve to negotiate my hours at my retail job to suit me better. I realised that my health and wellbeing was of utmost importance. Now l always put myself first and you should too.
If you are a shift worker or have to work rotating shifts (a combination of day and night shifts) it can be difficult to keep your body clock working optimally. When I was a shift worker, for years, I was secretly afraid that I was going crazy. I was in a constant state of jet-lag due to the hours I worked. I was depressed because I could no longer take part in my favourite team sports, or find the energy to catch up with friends. I thought there was something wrong with me.
Then it hit me, I could control how I felt and how I went about it. When I figured out that I could control my life, the most outrageous thing happened—I started to feel amazing, I was more energised, able to sleep better and woke up feeling normal.
Doctors and professionals make it all seem so complicated. Take "this medication" for a good nights sleep, take "that medication" upon waking to feel more alert etc…
With this course, I will prove to you that medications are not necessary for a good nights sleep and stimulants are not necessary to keep you alert at work. You will learn about the best dietary foods for energy, the most effective types of exercise, why some supplements will help and some will hinder your energy levels and how to improve your mindset so that you can finally live your most passionate life.
