How to Achieve Your Dreams

Achieving your dreams may sometimes seem like an impossibility. However it is definitely possible to woke through many of the obstacle you may be facing and turn your dreams into a reality.

The first step to achieving your dreams is to train your mind on what it is that you want. Where focus goes, energy flows!  One of the tools that can be used to do this is to create bucket list. Not only is creating a bucket list fun, it’s also backed by science, to reinforce the positive difference that it can make to your well being.

A 25 year research project, by psychologist Edwin Locke, shows that people who create bucket lists are more likely to accomplish their goals. This is because setting goals directs attention and effort to goal-relevant actions at the cost of non-relevant actions.

When you write down what you want to do in your bucket list, it makes you more committed. Every experience you cross off your list can assist in making your feel satisfied that you are living the life of your dreams.

Two important things to keep in mind are:

  1. Take things step by step, completing small tasks on the way—such as saving for a holiday—to your big goal of an overseas adventure.
  2. Beware of fear of failure. Instead of worrying about how things may go wrong, devote your energy to the success of your goal. For example, committing yourself to doing your best at work, which makes you more likely to get a promotion, making it easier to afford your holiday.

I invite you to create your bucket list today, as a step towards achieving your dreams.
