Many of us have struggled to get through this year. Most of us have dealt with or still dealing with financial problems, being distanced from loved ones or loss of jobs. Through these challenging times, it is difficult to find the bright side.
An effective way to regain a sense of control is to reflect on what has happened this year and create a story for ourselves. Here are some tips on how to create your own story:
• What is the story you want to tell?
• Don't make yourself the victim, but the hero.
• Acceptance of what has happened is helpful to reduce any pain. All pain is "resistance to what is". • • Acceptance may take time and this is fine too, be kind to yourself and where you are at in the process.
• Identify any positive moments, the smallest of joys or wins.
