- How do you act? Are you overeating? Oversleeping? Worrying too much?
- What are you choosing to believe about the situation? Is it true?
- Ask yourself: Are these thoughts helpful?
Psychologist and meditation teacher Tara Brach teaches a wonderful acronym called R.A.I.N. which I urge you to apply when you’re feeling overwhelmed.
- Recognize what is going on
- Allow the experience to be there, just as it is
- Investigate with kindness
- Natural awareness, which comes from not identifying with the experience.
