The first step is becoming aware of your inner voice and what it is saying to you. All healing starts with awareness. When you hear your inner voice saying something negative or critical towards yourself, do not judge it. Just become aware of what it is saying and then focus your mind on being present. (SEE Q&A “How do I feel like “myself” again). Ground yourself by being aware of your breathing, your feet on the ground, for example. Tap into your still, true, wise self that would never, ever be critical toward you. Ask yourself what it would say about you. You know when you are tapped into your wise self as the answers are ONLY loving.

If you find it difficult to maintain this state seek help from a mentor or self-education program to gain clarity and confidence in your own abilities. I hate my job, how do I feel happy in my career? You may not be able to leave a job that you do not like instantly, due to financial pressures. However, from your current job, you can certainly start to think about what it is that you love to do—what is it that is effortless and fun for you. Clues can come from, what it is you like to read, what you enjoyed as a young child and the activities and hobbies you enjoy. If you are still stuck, there are many; books, internet sites, sophisticated testing systems, and life coaches that can help you discover what it is you love to do.

Write out a list of things that nourish your soul—and see if it would be possible to convert any of them into a career. Whilst in your current job, take a part-time course to develop your marketable skills in the areas that you would love to work. Being successful in your career comes from ADDING VALUE to the world. Create a short or long-term plan to shift to doing the work you love. Never give up on this dream, even though some patience and persistence may be required. You are worth it and you will make the world a better place when you engage in the work that you love, as you will be emitting loving vibes while you work.
