One of the common wishes in the world is for world peace, yet peace begins from within. "As within, so without!" If we feel stressed or are taken away from our peace, those feelings are coming from within us! Feeling stressed is not the situation, it is our response to the situation.
It can be helpful to ask yourself, have I felt stressed before? Did I have feelings of stress and overwhelm growing up? Is feeling stressed or pressured to external situation a pattern for me? Stress and pressure are not our natural state, it is a learned response.
The good news it that just as you learn feeling stressed, you can unlearn stress. By working with your mind and teaching it to be calm in external situations, you can over time choose the response that best suits the situation, rather than falling back on patterns of behaviour.
