Make time for your child on a daily basis. Give your child your FULL attention when you are with them. (i.e., be with them from a state of presence.) Listen to what your child is saying to you—as it will give your child that they are of value and respected.

Approach situations in an empathetic way by trying to put yourself in their shoes. Be interested in their world and they will also be interested in yours as they grow up. They need your support and appreciation as they learn to navigate the world that can sometimes be challenging.

When children experiment with behaviours that you are not happy with, set healthy boundaries and let them know what behaviour it is that you would like. Always ensure they know that, while you are not happy with a particular behaviour, you always are filled with unconditional love for them.

Authentic communication and unconditional love will maintain a golden connection between you.
