Great question eggs are actually highly nutritious, as they contain almost a little bit of every vitamin and mineral including: vitamin A, folate, vitamin B5, vitamin B12, vitamin B2 phosphorus, selenium, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, vitamin B6, calcium and zinc. They are also a great source of protein and healthy fats.
Eggs have been seen as "bad for you" because the yolks are high in cholesterol. Studies have found that your liver naturally produces cholesterol throughout the day. However the more eggs you eat the less cholesterol your body produces. (1) So nature has a way a balancing things out! Eating up to three eggs per day is considered healthy and safe for your body.
