Unresolved issues from the past can stop you from living fully in the present. Your body wants you to be well and happy and gives you lessons to guide you towards your natural state of presence. If you are feeling as though your life is constantly full of drama and chaos it can be beneficial to heal any unresolved traumas from the past.

A neutral sounding board such as a therapist can be effective to help to release repressed feelings around things such as: the death of a parent, abusive behaviour or being abandoned. This process helps you to understand your true feelings and their impact in terms of unconscious behavioural patterns. When you have released your past, you will automatically feel more present in your daily life.

Living in the present moment is when you consciously resting in a state of awareness beyond the restlessness of the mind. To do this, when you find yourself consumed by thoughts, redirect your attention to fully focussing on the task at hand such as driving, chopping vegetables or breathing. Anything that gets you out of your head and into a state of presence.
