Vitamin C helps absorb iron, so drink fresh orange juice and lemon/lime water. Eat more high protein foods; red meat, chicken, seafood. Iron deficiencies come from a lack of red blood cells, so foods packed with B vitamin’s encourage blood cell growth.

Eggs, milk and cheese all have B12 vitamins, and bread, rice, spinach and bananas all have folic acid which is another B vitamin. Alcohol can damage the red blood cells your body makes, or can keep it from producing any at all. Keeping alcohol intake to moderate prevents any long term harm.
