How do I feel secure?

Many people try to feel secure by controlling their external world, however true security comes from within. When you are experiencing feelings of insecurity, take some time to sit quietly. Turn you attention inwards to find out what is really going on for you. What are you feeling right now. A current event may trigger feelings of insecurity however usually the root secure often comes rom past family issues or traumas that can create an underlying feeling of not feeling safe. Observe the feeling without judgement then focus on how you would like to feel: secure. Visualise yourself feeling secure. Imagine a particular scenario where you feel secure and are acting and speaking in a secure way. Imagine the scene as if it has already happened. Be grateful for the beautiful secure you, that is the real you.
You can also take some time to comfort your inner child. Your younger insecure you. Give your inner child a big hug and nurture and comfort him/her with kind words. Validate any feelings of insecurity they many be having and then reassure them with words of how you belief in them, they will always be safe with you and that now they have every reason to be secure.
Learn to trust yourself, your inner wisdom. Learn to be still enough to hear it as it is the voice that guides you on your journey through life. Think self-affirming thoughts about yourself and your body, as our thoughts create our reality.
Follow your passions as when you are able to tap into the passion within yourself rather than relying on other people to make you happy, it automatically helps you to feel secure.
Remind yourself when feeling insecure that, you are just listening to your thought and emotions which are not your true self. Your true self is always wise, loving, unlimited, full and complete.
