I work in retail and often people come into my store just because they want to chat. I love to chat and i love talking to others and helping them when they need it, but it is so important to know when to draw that line to ensure your own well-being is being taken care of. When i find someone is pulling too much of my energy i've learnt to politely let them know they i need to get back to work, however it will always be tough to do this.
At the end of the day, people who over-talk always have a reason for this, and it is important for these people to let these emotions out regularly rather than in bursts.  less
