Many studies over the past decade have found that people who consciously count their blessings tend to be happier and less depressed (UC Berkeley, 2018) Practicing gratitude whenever you think of it or as a conscious daily practice, for example, can certainly elevate your mood.
The key is to think of something you are grateful for, however to EXPERIENCE the joy of gratitude, tune into how YOU FEEL, while thinking those thoughts. For example, I am so grateful for my three children. When I tune into how that makes me feel, my heart feels open and expanded and I experience joy radiating throughout my body. Like attracts like. When I am feeling joyful, I am more likely to attract joyful situations.
Ask yourself, "What are you grateful for and how does that make you FEEL?"
