Adrian Hanks: Taking time out in nature is a great way to tune into oneslf, find some inner peace, and reflect on one's life. Sitting beside a fire is an added bonus - especially in the winter!

I also use many other tools and resources for my health and wellbeing and find that making the time to use them makes so much difference in how I live my day. In my work as a therapist and facilitator I love to share these tools with others so they to can live a great life with less stress, tension, and anxiety and with more purpose, passion, and joy.
Each day is a day to focus in on how we wish to live our life, and when in alignment with our desire, passion, commitment and will, we can have some amazing days! less

Attending to our (holistic) health is not just important — IT IS ESSENTIAL — especially if we are wanting to live our best posssible life.
This is not always so easy. Our subconscious mind will always have a part to play in ou...

Right now, with all that is going on in the world many people are struggling to hold their focus - hold their vision. With fear rampant across the world with Covid 19, job losses, financial ruin and many other challenges people re facing, this is not surprising.
Learning to hold one's focus and vision is a daily task. It means finding the time, space, energy and resources to do so. Meditation is a good place to start. And then finding some key resources to use when one's mind goes from the positive to the negative. I use a process called 'The Where Am 'I' Right Now? process.
Set the alarm on your phone or watch to go off on the hour - every hour - from say, 7am - 7pm and when it goes off - ASK yourself the question: Where Am 'I' Right Now? Physically - Emotionally - Mentally - Spiritually.
If you are NOT in alignment in that moment - you can CHOOSE to realign yourself. Practice this exercise every day - on the hour - for a week and see how it can help you... less

I have been working in the 'men's space' for three decades and for the past 20 years have spent many 1000's of moments with men in my capacity as a facilitator, coach, counsellor and psychotherapist supporting men into leading a better life - which, of course includes having good mental health.
Some of the key aspects of working with men (and women) and mental health , is about helping them to be free of stress, anxiety, fear, doubt and negative mindsets and thinking. This is an ongoing process and something, that I encourage people to work with EVERY DAY!
On the TO DO LIST: Daily Meditation, Daily Exercise. Daily (evening) Journaling. Having a Coach. Daily / Weekly / Monthly Study for the Mind.
Much of the work around having good health is the COMMITMENT to doing the work, and committing to getting support when things get a bit stuck. Staying stuck for weeks, months, and even sometimes years, is... less

I love your work Adrian, it is so important that men have safe spaces to go to feel heard and validated. We are so grateful to have you as part of our community.
Writing out my ‘smart’ goals for this month was such a chore. Feeling fed up with the same old mechanical rote of ‘Specific, Measured, Achievable, Realistic and Timed’ my creative mind saw the word ‘smart’ backwar...

I was sharing some information today about the importance of 'Meditation' and sharing how so many people do not have a REGULAR Meditation Practice - but keep skirting around the edges of Meditation without making a full commitment.
After 20+ years of Meditation Practice I still get challenged to find the time, energy, inclination or effort to do it - but I keep at it - day in and day out. This is what it takes.
I know that when I do commit and sit - I feel so good during and afterwards. This is the reward! less
