Description
For as long as she could remember, Barbara has been passionate about the quality of care provided to children. Her background in early childhood education led her to parent education in 1988. Since then she has been leading parenting courses and workshops and have learned as much from parents, as she has taught them. Probably what qualifies her the most though, is raising her own four children including her twin-step sons who are both deaf. She often tells her audiences that she was the best parent before she had kids. She had all the answers. Once she had them, she realized that she did not have all the answers.
On the advice of her own life coach, she began coaching parents privately in 2002 and has never looked back. She feels it’s an honor to work with parents helping them to succeed at the most important job they’ll ever have.
Throughout the 25 years she's worked with parents, she's learned that parenting is much, much more than knowing how to discipline. It's how we live our lives. Barbara believes those of us who have children are given the best opportunity for personal growth. We are their role models. It's how we lives our lives that teaches them the most.
Barbara lives in Vancouver, British Columbia with herhusband and friend of 30 years.
